Wrote an email to my ice rink to take lessons in extremely bad (EXTREMELY BAD) Polish. I moved from DC, America and am now an Asian Polish high schooler who doesn’t know Polish and used to hide inside all day but today is the first step to trying to adapt to Poland 😭😭 proud of myself…

Cool
There are mistakes, but it’s perfectly comprehensible. Well done!
Cheers! Ancient Romans were saying “errare humanum est”, we Poles have “ten nie popełnia blędów kto nic nie robi”. Good work and keep it up!
Hi, If you want to better your grammar, I think this [site](http://ortograf.pl) might be good for you. It’s not perfect, but it’ll help you with punctuations and complicated polish grammar.
to be honest, i’ve seen worse polish grammar from my friends lol. I hope you’ll like your ice scates lessons
E-mail ma kilka błędów, ale jest perfekcyjnie zrozumiały! Życzę dużo powodzenia w nauce c;
Dude this is so adorbs! and not bad really. Good luck on your skating lessons and have fun
“przeprowadziłem” instead of “przeniosłem”
“roku” instead of “rok”
“po angielsku” instead of “angielskiego”
Change those 3 and it’s perfectly fine 🙂
This isn’t terrible at all?? Yeah there are mistakes but it’s understandable so no need to worry, great job buddy?!?!
If you were able to learn Polish to the level shown in the message (which was kinda funny) then you are on your way to be proficient speaker.
Hey, that’s fine. It’s no so terrible as you think, many Poles makes mistakes so that’s fine. Hope you’ll find fun, stability and kindness in my country. Good luck! 🥰
so proud of you!! good luck learning the language, you can do it!! which city/region do you live in btw?
Baby steps, good thing you decided to go for it. I hope you’ll have ton of fun at these lessons!
I’m the countryside where I live this would be considered eloquent 😀 There are some places where Polish is a second language even in Poland.
W porządku.
Hey, you are good. The most important thing is that it is understandable!
You did good! Congrats:D I will be cheering you on!
I’m proud of you too my guy
Remember this classic piece of folk wisdom when on the ice rink:[“Jak się nie wywrócisz, to się nie nauczysz”](https://youtu.be/9RfLuy1xVGw) (if you don’t fall, you won’t learn)
Somehow it seems very relatable to your learning of Polishas well, which by the way is far from being EXTREMELY BAD. It’s very comprehensive, and the most important part is getting out of your shell and practicing it in real life situations as much as you can. Good luck, you’re doing great!
Give yourself some more credit, your Polish is really good! Hope you enjoy ice skating! 😊
As other said, your Polish is not bad. I actually admire people who are not Slavic and succesfully learn Polish. I have no idea how. I myself is Slavic, but it is really not easy even for me.
Lifehack: you can use ChatGPT for translations, checking your texts for errors. I am really amazed how good it in helping to deal with languages.
proud of you 👏 keep using the language, mistakes will go away with time. and even with some mistakes, it’s totally fine, no one expects you to speak like a native
twoje polski lepiej niż moje😭
1) Good to have you here, mate. Hope you can soon feel fully at home in Poland.
2) What you have written is definitely good enough. If the person who gets the message isn’t a jerk, it shouldn’t be a problem, I guess.
Ok but did you start the lessons? 😂
I know it was difficult, I’m proud of you.
Not sure if this will help, but I use DeepL to check my Polish if I need to write a letter or send mail, best translator that I have used. [https://www.deepl.com/translator](https://www.deepl.com/translator)
In situations like this, where you start doubting your skills, ask yourself what is the main purpose of language – it is communication. You conveyed the message wonderfully and Polish speakers will absolutely understand and encourage you to speak more. Keep up the obviously great job you’re doing and proficiency will come naturally, Polish is on a whole other level of difficult.
