Police searching for five missing people find three dead

  1. Tragic. If its RTC then , speed is what kills. I’ve seen documentaries where high speed crashes can slingshot passengers upto 50 meters.

    RIP

  2. Awful news. I hope the two recover physically and psychologically.

Looks like they were found near a busy roundabout on the outskirts of Cardiff. Scary to think this happened in a populated area with a pretty heavy traffic flow.

  3. Never knew it was normal for a one car road incident to be

‘The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct in line with normal procedure’

  4. I live really close to the location of the crash, it looks like they came off a slip road from the A48, on approach to the roundabout. If that’s correct, they would have been on the A48 eastbound (70mph) before joining the slip which crosses a bridge and becomes 30mph as it heads down to the roundabout. The 30mph limit and then the roundabout comes up fairly quick and on a downhill, so I can see how they could have lost control if speeding and having to brake sharply on approach. Really sad story, considering the time passed before they were found I hope the two in hospital can recover.

  5. Many years ago I passed a car in a ditch near a petrol station. I didn’t stop at the car, but at the petrol station I mentioned it and they said it had “been there all night”.

It was a difficult road that led to a a large army base full of new recruits, so it wasn’t unusual to see hatchbacks in hedges from time to time.

That evening I passed again and the car was surrounded by paramedics and firefighters. The driver was still in there, deceased, and it turned out they had died instantly in the crash. Nobody could have helped but nonetheless it was a sickening feeling to think it had taken that long for anyone to… do anything for them.

So now, at the risk of being called a nosy old bastard, I always stop and look if there’s no obvious Police Aware sticker or similar.

This is such a sad story, as others have said they were just kids really. So sad.

  6. Two alive still, after two days in a crashed car, in Wales, in March? That’s mad. You’d have thought they’d have frozen to death.

  7. Are they all accounted for? The headlin says 5, but the story seems to say one is in hospital, and three others died. Did the driver abscond, perhaps?

Its odd that another man was arrested to prevent a breach of te peace. What’d going on there?

  8. What’s truly crazy is one of the girls who died in the crash was on a tv show about drunk drivers because her older sister died in a drunk driving crash 8 years ago
