In light of what’s happening in Georgia, this is an image from an EU capital today. I want to point out that this does not reflect the majority of public opinion. The EU was the best thing to happen to BG, but some people are incredibly misinformed/anti-common sense.

  1. Are they showing communist flags? I hope the current regime treats them the exact way communist regimes treat protesters.

  2. Look, bunch of retirees want to screw up future for their kids and grandkids. I don’t judge, Czechia is scheduled to have similar exhibit this Saturday.

  3. truly horrifying. i am terrified that this might be happening in my country in the future.

my heart goes out for my vallahian brothers

  4. Uh, I don’t know if you’ve seen, but Bulgaria has been doing awfully since they joined the EU. People here are saying “average age=60” but that’s only 15 years above the average age of Bulgarians.

  5. Видно, що на цьому збіговиську здебільшого динозаври зі стародавньої підрадянської ери.

  6. Let me shed some light as I don’t see comments actually doing it.
This is happening next to a monument to the Russian army due to the 2nd world war.

The protests themselves are due to the decision of the local government to move the monument in the museum of communism and not have it in the middle of the capital city (Sofia).

The old people and some political movements are protesting in order to avoid the removal of it.

  7. When God was sprinkling idiots around the Earth, just to add a bit of flavour, he unfortunately tripped and spilled his bag all over Bulgaria.

I am ashamed the same generation that drove our country, state, economy, and society into the ground is now trying to sabotage the future of the young.

    Slava Ukraini.

  8. Russia bad, communism debatable, russia destroyed socialism.

People in this picture cant diferintiate between socialism and comunism and russia.

    Same as mericans.

  9. Elderly people mainly, some still red commies and some just fooled by disinformation. Same as anywhere else, which is sad.

  10. I saw a parade like this on Friday (national liberation day) in Sofia when visiting with a few friends. One of the pro-Russian protectors approached me telling me my country was evil and to go fuck myself. She thought we were American for speaking English. I explained I’m Irish and she mentioned she hated the West when I called her out on her prejudice.
