Krakow beating Warsaw is interesting. It’s hard to grasp why exactly would they pay more in a smaller city that doesn’t have any specific industry relatively developed in a significant manner, or maybe I’m missing something.
It’s a mean value. Many people earn less, and few earn more.
If 4 people earn 2k each and one earn 10k, then they earn 3,6k each in mean value. If those four ask for and get raise to 3,6k, then mean will automatically rise to 4,9k and this will continue untill all earn the same.
It leads to ideal communism and lack of professionals, because why learn and use your skills if you’ll get paid like physical worker who just move item from spot to spot.

Aside from tech jobs, in Poznan, companies compete for who will do the most work for the least amount of pay. Qualifications don’t even matter they just hire the one who will work for less.
