  1. Oxo really got their money’s worth from that ad on the tram.

Over a century later and they’re still increasing their brand awareness with it!

  2. Still don’t get how there’s a road leading through the park, the main road people walk along at that. Sorta defeats the purpose of it doesn’t it

  3. Be some craic going round the Park on a horse back in the day.

Just thinking in general there was probably way less light pollution back then too, it would have been deadly at night with no cars

  4. Always struck by how cars have made all these places we see in old photos so inacceisible and less human. Like you’ll see a photo of a street in the city from the 1920s and there will be children out playing, people walking, a few horses and carriages. Now all you’ll see is either an empty road with cars parked on it that you’d hardly stand around and chat on, or a busy road with cars passing through and pedestrians meekly waiting to be able to cross. Also just the lack of liveliness compared to those old photos where it really seemed like there was a million things going on in one place and hundreds of people with their different professions on display. It’s a shame how much less interesting things are now in so many ways.
