Blue zone is the cheaper paid parking zone in big cities. The green zone is the more expensive one.
Blue zone – up to two hours of parking for 2 leva per hour. Green zone – up to four hours of parking for 1 lev per hour. You pay by SMS, app or live to a city employee if one is around, upfront. If your car is parked without being paid for, within the hours shown on the sign, it will be immobilized with a “bracket”, and later towed. You remove the bracket by paying a fine, and if it is towed, you call a number to check where your car is towed, travel there and pay a much larger fine. Fines are between 50.to 100 leva, but there is an hourly rate for the towed cars as well.
