  1. People strike asking for more pay, prices go up. People get shocked prices go up.

average monthly wage of a driver is
    Uk€5542
    Germany €3173
    France €3030
    Italy 2096
    Poland €967

Not sure why I’m being downvoted, I’m all for people getting paid more we just have to be aware or the consequences for the wider public.

  2. I haven’t actually paid for a train so far this year. I’ve booked 6 tickets and every one has either been significantly late or cancelled so I’ve been fully refunded.

  3. I had to go from one medium sized city to another yesterday. The 160 mile round trip was £40 plus £10 for busses either side. I just took the car.

  4. This is why you wont get people to give up their cars

The service is shit, its always late, always cancelled, never any late trains after 11 unless your in london, always raising the price for subpar service

  5. Meanwhile they take out hundreds of millions of pounds out the railways every year and cannot afford to pay the staff a proper wage.

  6. It’s really screwed up that it’s cheaper to fly to Europe and back than it is to get a train to and from some places

  7. Meanwhile in Germany a county wide off peak rail and bus pass will cost you €45 per month

  8. 5.9% more reason to nationalise the service. The service is getting worse at an alarming rate now and companies are doing nothing to fix that, nor entice people to use trains again. At this point, they are only being used by people who have no other choice, with those who can avoid them by driving or taking a plane choosing to do that instead. Why pay through the arse for a train that may or may not be cancelled, but will almost certainly be late when it does turn up?

  9. Paid £150 for an off peak journey and spent literally half of it on a replacement bus service last week.

    Absolute joke.
