Hello /r/croatia, sorry if this not a good place to ask but basically an acquaintance of mine is cycling around Europe with his white hen and he lost it around 30 kms from Dubrovnik, most likely between Kurcica and Brsecine.
Here is a picture of them together: https://imgur.com/UCIg8yv

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post personal phone numbers here so if you have any information I can dm you his number to contact him.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, have a very nice day !

Update: I tried to get more specifics but its hard since I’m not in direct contact with him, my friend is and he doesn’t have any more information than what I shared here.
As you guys said, its most likely too late but thank you for all your messages, I hope you enjoy your evening

  1. How did it go lost? Can you mark on google maps last seen location? It might help someone who is in area. Random white hen in rural areas and even semi rural wont even be noticed by people here as its common for chickens to wander around roadsides in villages.

To all clever jokers: you guys suck and are one of reasons why croatia will continue to be backwards. Napusite se kurca

  2. hrpetina debila ne razumije da macke i pasi nisu jedini ljubimci
da bog da vam nestali vase macke i psi, pa nakon sto objavite negdi za pomoc da vas ljudi posprdaju

  3. I’m from the area and I never heard of “Kurcica” … Brsečine does exist though so if you are looking something “in between” it can be between following places:

If he was taking the old road which is more scenic and higher:

    Dubravica – Brsečine
    Mravinjac – Brsečine

    Or

Highway which is along the sea and lower:

    Brsečine -Trsteno
    Ratac – Brsecine

In any case, white chicken are not so common in the area as people prefer brown variety and those are normally kept locked up in coops or within enclosed yard with a dog keeping an eye out – definitely not roaming free along the roads as someone here mentioned.

Reason for that are foxes, caglji (coyote), badgers, kune (weasels), hawks, owls and so on which are quite abundant in the area and will happily snatch anything that is not under surveillance. Even kittens.

    So there are three options:

    – if he was taking lower road which is quite busy as it is only proper road connecting Dubrovnik to the rest of the country I’d say there is a strong chance it got hit by a car
    – if he was taking upper road and the chicken got away, well it is hills covered in thick brush low vegetation with clear stone patches. I’d say it has one to two days before it ends up on the bottom of food chain especially if it is white with no camo feathers.
    – Disney option, someone found it, took it in their coop, has new friends, is desirable because it is exotic and different than others and is living somewhere in the area. Her name is Marija now, don’t call and make it weird. As all Disney stories, has an evil stepmother.

  4. My advice is to check the KFC restaurant next to the big Konzum in Črnomerec. Her family could also be there.

  5. Asking on Reddit is bad enough.

Asking in r/Croatia is a cherry on top.

You’re more likely to get solid information from a pet rock, then these “funny jokers”.

  6. I would recommend buying “tractive” it cost 20 euros and it is a life saver In this situations,I’m hoping your buddy finds his friend! Good luck !
