Construction of the Oosterweel is already costing billions more euros: “Huge sum, but investments remain required”

  1. maybe we need to start a comity to figure out where alllll the money goes. I know some polititians that ~~want some more money~~ have some expertise in this

  2. These kinds of extravagantly expensive highway works should be financed using tolls. Jeez, just put up some virtual toll booths using ANPR cameras and send people a bill at the end of the month. It makes so much sense to have the actual users of the infrastructure finance this instead of putting it on the general budget. Same for whatever is going to replace viaduct van Gentbrugge in the distant future.

  3. The original concept was much cheaper and efficient. But some groups made it impossible… A bit cynical

  4. And how much of that is standard inflation and PFAS misery?

If all action groups had not delayed the building of a solution (bridge/tunnel/…) it might have been finished by now.

Fuck you. Echt.

  7. I don’t know anything about construction (apart from building Lego) and just here to read comments from those who are actually qualified about the subject.

  8. I am gonna ask a stupid question…again

When you exit the kennedy tunnel coming from antwerp towards ghent…all those construction works, are those the oosterweel verbinding?
