Been on holidays for the last two weeks.
Now, at one side of a blind the “pull up strap” is torn apart. I had them on automatic so they always went up and down with the sun. (astro-timing)
I wonder if this is a common thing to happen?
or should i tell the police?
The blinds are from 2019.
Brand: Schenker
Thanks for any info!

You want them to arrest the wind? King Xerxes sends his regards.
heavy storms caused that, you should have pulled them up when not home for weeks.
this is a insurance / verwaltungs thing.
We had some crazy strong winds recently, one of the strongest storm in Europe. [more info here](https://amp.rts.ch/info/suisse/13816545-nombreux-incidents-dus-a-la-tempete-de-bise-des-rafales-jusqua-100-kmh.html) check if any neighbours had similar damages.
Your landlord knows the repair company. Usually the landlord would also pay for the repair.
I did a similar repair myself, followed this tutorial: https://youtu.be/N6JQOv1gxnM
That can happen with these. I would not suspect this to be a case for the police. Contact someone to fix it, if you rent Vermieter is in charge.
Had the same thing happen to me around new year. I live I on the 4th floor, so no real suspect other than nature. Landlord replaced both.
This happened to all our blinds in our apartment. We just called a ‚storen‘ company nearby and they came up, took the blinds away, repaired them and brought them back. If you’re in an apartment ask the Hausabwart for a contact, if you’re renting ask the landlord, if you own the house ask google.
