Ireland ranks 147th.
One hundred and forty seventh.
Loads of countries with a higher population density don’t have a housing crisis. It’s the planning system.
EDIT: Whoa, did this do a lot of triggering and that wasn’t my objective in the first place. Lots of raw nerves out there.

Jesus fucking christ.
Australia has a lower population density and *still* has a housing crisis. So does Canada.
Oh shit.
Density is more or less irrelevant to housing problems bar super-extreme edge cases like Monaco.
Just curious – which countries *don’t* have a housing crisis?
And don’t say [Belgium](https://www.brusselstimes.com/220526/housing-crisis-70-of-belgians-find-buying-homes-unaffordable)
Do you think the only variable in all the data we could possibly collate, the only one you choose is population density? Not even housing density?
Not even effective GNP/capita, quality of housing, CPI, housing FDI, builders/capita, emigration of builders, builders visa requirements/availability/fulfilment, like you wouldn’t consider any of these?
Plenty of cheap houses in ballybofey mate
