O’bradaigh style republicanism is a dead end, more interested in keeping true to republicanism as a religion rather than a ideology that tries to gain appeal with things the people actually care about and actually achieves its goals. For his ilk it is more important to keep to the faith of the second dail and Fenian dead rather than compromising on this purist quasi religious nonsense and actually taking power and improving the lives of nationalists in the north and having a government in the south committed to helping said nationalists. History has shown pragmatists get things done purists don’t.
