Had a french student spend a month with us one summer and he stumbled across this flicking through the channels one evening. To this day I can remember his reaction so vividly. “Ah! C’est in travesti!”. Didn’t need to be fluent to get that

Now that you post this I remember seeing it on the telly a few times as a kid, but I never registered anything weird about the presenter, much less that they might be trans (or just crossdressing). Makes you think
Being born in ’94, this was new to me seeing someone transgender on tv. Fair play to my mum tho when I asked is that a man or a woman and she flatly replied “That’s not for you to decide.” and that was that.
The new jingle is better.
