Queue for a booster jab, Manchester

  1. Queues were slightly similar down south.

Queues were massive. Probably a good 70/90 people waiting outside. Turned out that was the queue for walk ins. Queue for appointments had one other person in it. I was in and out within 5 minutes because I was lucky enough to book the booster before Boris gave the speech and crashed the website.

  2. I’m blessed. I ordered a pack of LFTs just before it all went haywire and have my booster appt this wednesday which I also booked before shit went tits up.

  3. We got ours as a walk in in Milton Keynes this morning, as soon as it opened. To start with appointments were the long queue, but by the time we left, there was a good 25 people waiting outside.

  4. Very glad I got my booster 10 days ago – there were 50 people queuing at the chemist, plus about 5 who had booked. I could have booked the next afternoon but wanted to be done before my Xmas do. Was about 30 min wait, mostly seated.

Chemist opened yesterday (normally shut on a Sunday) to do boosters and there was a huge queue. Which is good, that people want to get jabbed.

  5. It was 7 hours in some places. It’s good in one respect but it also shows how poor the roll out of boosters has been until now, even though we know they are necessary and have been for a few months now. We started off well with the initial vaccine last year but really dropped the ball on the booster.

  6. I was in this queue. Took me *four hours* to get to the front, and I was the second-last person in the line who was able to get a vaccine – the rest have to come back tomorrow after waiting for so long..
