  1. He says they are building more homes than Sinn Féin even proposed, when the host presses him further and puts it to him that most of whats being built is single bedroom build to rent which most people won’t be able to afford he suddenly ‘hasn’t got the figures on that’

  2. Whether that’s the full statement or not from him that’s a scary attitude for someone who’s meant to have our best interest at heart. Very telling.

  3. Think government messaging needs to be clearer when they have pops at SF. SF Councillors are rejecting housing proposals and planning proposals all over the place. Now in the same vein its because they want to push higher % of affordable and social housing which on one hand is noble, they are still blocking and in a lot of cases ending applications.

Not everyone is eligible for social or affordable housing. I know I’m one of them. And some indicators would be interesting, as I’d imagine i am probably in the majority of people in my age bracket, where its basically down to me and me alone to get a house. Affordable or social housing not a thing based on my income.

A primary solution is to just build houses. So would appreciate SF fucking off objecting every proposal just because they arn’t entire social housing areas or projects.

On the flipside, the governmant has lost control, but not this one. This problem is of FG’s making and their ineptitude to govern, plan or make any sort of large scale interventions, just thinking their job is letting ‘the markets’ do all the work. Current Housing Minister getting a lot of flack but I think people are forgetting he is being tasked with cleaning up the mess, and had to deal with a 6 month lockdown of construction.

He’s atleast putting in a lot of regulations and changes, and he was the one pushing for the Mica redress when FG were doing their usual, having a wank over a balance sheet worried about the costs.

Think FF fucked themselves a bit here. Their term in Government is being dealt the worse of COVID and everything that impacts it, while FG swan in middle of next year and likely start to reap all the rewards.

FF should have pushed harder to have the end of term, and let FG clean up their own mess

  4. Whenever the next election comes and Fine Gael knock on my door, my first words will be “sinn fein sinn fein sinn fein sinn fein, what do you guys think of my Fine Gael impersonation?”

They’ve had years to sort this, but spend all there time harping on about Sinn Fein, when if they did there job in the first place no one would care about Sinn Fein

  5. His mum was a nice person but he is just a waffler and not a very popular figure in south Tipp. He is similar to Varadkar in that he is all show but no substance.

  6. Strange usage of scarifying there I’d have thought, as if it meant some kind of extra spooky mix of scary and terrifying
