Can’t imagine they would look bad or be nearly as intrusive as wind turbines
Well obviously! It’s not Ireland if its a not “a blight on the landscape” is it?. Usual nonsense about how location X is completely unsuited and how it’s a unique place blah blah blah.
If Ireland is to be post carbon then some compromises are required. The countryside will become a fraction industrialised to generate power for us all.
The company in question should have had the wit to buy them off with say 4000 kwH of free power maybe something like that will yet be put forward.
Everyone objects to everything
professional moaners
Same thing happened in 4000BC.
Crowd of cunts came in and stared planting big areas with Maze an Barley. Completely ruined the place for the rest of us gatherers.
Cunts
They just want to burnt peat and fuck their cousins
It’s not a very notable spot. It’s not in the mountains and is fairly flat and featureless. I don’t see the problem with putting renewables here.
There was a group of aul cunts hanging around a roundabout in Ennis yesterday, something about stealing farm land or some such nonsense. Anyway, the van they were operating out of had a shit load of posters, everything from 5G to Jebus… These rent a cunts are everywhere objecting to everything, we need to raise the bar on the ability to object, and when there is an objection, it should be dealt with within a week or 2 (a month max if it’s a massive infrastructure project)
Seems like nobody wants anything built in this country
The south east will be the solar region of Ireland for obvious reasons, there’s projects in the pipeline for Waterford, Wexford, south Tipp and Kilkenny right now.
Given the climate crisis, we should have the country zoned for renewable energy. If it’s zoned in, the bar for objection or refusal should be much higher than it is at the moment. These things can be dismantled in no time.
Retards. House the refugees. Just not near me. Let’s have nuclear, just not near me. Let’s have more services but not with my money. Fucking retards.
Fuck them
Question- do the people of Waterford want the lights to come on when they use the switch, well maybe it’s time they rethink this one !
To many misguided whinging, give it up or go without !
Christ people are thick.
Cmon now, we all know solar panels suck in the sunlight. So it might suck up the value of property there. Some people even have second homes there dontyaknow.
Fuck sake.
There’s one in Kildare that they are installing at the moment. It looks class. Mad futuristic.
Did they discuss with residents of this country before increasing electricity prices or when decided to not putting a cap on electricity bills? No.
Did they discuss lockdowns (whether it’s right or wrong) with residents before imposing on its residents? No.
Did they discuss removing the eviction ban with residents before implementing it? No.
All this time the government is suddenly capable of making a decision regardless of upsetting lots of people for what they deem is the greater good.
So how come when there’s a project that is objectively good for the country in short and long term gets knocked out all of the sudden with mild hesitation by landlords?
These parasitic scumbags not only block any housing development but now on to blocking sustainable energy but most importantly energy independency in a time like this. EU is scrambling to source alternatives and becoming completely independent and just look at this. Small businesses are going out of business and being replaced by big corporations and rich franchise owners. This is absolutely not in the best interest of anyone in this country but just looking out for their rich and selfish voter base.
All these solar farms will absorb all the light and make the summers darker.
People should be allowed to object but we need to start ignoring the objections of idiots. It seems progress is constantly derailed by a small minority of moaners.
Fuckmewearedoomed. Afforest an Acer or 3 around it, no one will see it and we can claw back from being the most de Forested country in Europe
These are the same people who protested wind turbines because they were unsightly. Solar is fair less intrusive on the landscape. This is exactly what led to the climate/energy crises we’re currently in. It beggars belief
From the area……” our future is green not steel” Is the main slogan and the main worry is the “special” radiation the batteries give off.
BASED
Fair play to them.
When nimby’s object to things like this they only ever have one thing on their mind and it’s not concerns over the landscape or biodiversity. It’s about their house price.
