What does that OUTLET pris mean ? Like I’ve seen this many times at elkjop

  1. It usually means it’s leftover stock that they’re selling at a reduced price because they don’t intend on re-stocking it.

  2. Either returned, display moddels or b-moddels (slightly damaged).

Discount differs depending on how “used” it is. Everything from slight cosmetic damag or slight use to never opened. All sold with full warenty.

  3. “Nesten Ny” is the display or returned models.
“Outlet” is usually left over stock as someone said.

We also have “outlet” stores that specialize in these. Basically left over stock in decent quantity – but the shop need to get rid of them as they need the shelf space for new stock or it’s out of season. Electronic outlet items are usually only a little discounted, but for clothing you usually get it half price, so I reccomend that for shopping.

  4. Elkjøp has a return policy. You can return almost anything within 60 days, and you get your money back. The item you returned ends up at the outlet at a reduced price.

  5. I just want to add that usually you need to visit the store that has the outlet to get it for that outlet price, unless the store offers shipping ofc. But some stores you need to do click and collect and visit the store. You would be surprised how many people come to where i work asking for the outlet price on web and its an outlet from a completely different location.

  6. They have been used/open in some way. Either returned under 50 days open buy warranty or used on display. Some items can be new, but will be without the original case. You will find a description of what kind of use under the item.

You will get the same 2 years complaint warrenty as new items.

  7. Outlet means it’s been opened and used in some way. I just bought a tablet, opened it, realized it was hurting my wrist so I returned it. Didn’t turn it on, but I did charge it. That one will end up in outlet. I’ve bought outlet products at elkjøp several times and there’s never been an issue. It has all been just like new as far as I have noticed.

  8. There are several different reasons why a product is on outlet at Elkjøp and the wares are usually discounted accordingly. A product thats only been on display in the store or only been opened by a customer before being returned (i.e. wrong colour, etc) is usually discounted very lightly. Products that have been used extensively and show wear, or in the case of larger whitewares have impact marks or cosmetic damage are usually discounted more extensively. The most discounted are usually the outlets that are going out of assortment, and these can be new in the box and discounted by 50% if you’re lucky.

  9. Elkjøp and stores like it will slap any word they think will increase sales onto their ads.

They cannot claim “Salg!” unless it is a genuine reduced price sale (they have had their hands slapped too many times for that), but the word “outlet” does not mean anything in Norwegian, so they may get away with it.
If some customers think “outlet” means “good deal, low price” they may make an additional sale.

The story of outlet stores (including background info on the lower quality) is as always found here:
