2008 i was safely tucked away in college with a 4 year scholarship. Not feeling so safe this go around.
I was all excited about my raise this year until I started paying attention to how much more expensive shit has become. There are these little bags of dehydrated strawberries I buy for my youngest kiddo at the local supermarket. They used to cost like EUR 2.49 a bag and suddenly they are EUR 4.49. My interest rate on my loan has gone up twice in the last 6 months. I mean it’s good that this is happening after I got a raise rather than me having received no raise…but it is a big time bummer.
I don’t think Europeans are ready to live in a world where they will be treated as Second class people behind Investors of Europe who will be taking up all the wealth and properties. Soon Europeans will be nothing more than caretakers and staff of their ex-properties in Europe owned by Americans, Chinese, Arabs and Indians. Today an Average European is competing for Oil/Gas along with the rest of the world paying 4 times than before, tomorrow they will be paying 4 times for food as Russia controls fertilizers and then in future when most Americans control industries and banks thats when Europe really starts looking poor.
Paradoxically high inflation and policies of The Party made me live healthier than two years ago. Back then I would buy tons of sweets, chocolate, chips, often eat in McDonald’s or KFC and drink tons of Coke. No, I was not overweight and did blood tests every half a year. Anyway, now I barely buy all of this stuff due to the high prices.
