If TDs want easy answers to difficult questions they should just go and join SF. Availability of rentals is collapsing, the eviction ban is at least partially to blame, being in government means not having the luxury of avoiding difficult decisions. I’m actually pleased that the government is making this decision, it reminds me of the brave (but correct) decision they took when they decided to increase the pension age – and didn’t have the courage to follow through on.
Why doesn’t she resign if she feels so strongly about it?
She will likely be kicked out of the Green Party if she does vote against the government. If Holly Cairns isn’t talking to her about a defection to the Soc Dems she is a fool.
According to her it contradicts Green party policy-if so, the Greens are in for a hell of a fight
This is just for PR. It’s the greens way of distancing themselves from this issue while voting for it. Come back in a week when she voted the party lines.
Support your constituents Neasa, don’t abandon them now. The greens are doing deals to support in return for support for bicycle lanes and anti motorist issues etc. It’s not about the people, this trio of clowns couldn’t careless about the people!
Ryan is cabbage scum
Anyone else notice RTÉ posting a lot of anti SF content today but with zero context? Like there is stuff that SF can be criticised for but these seem like RTÉ are just reprinting FG press releases.
Just expel her. She is a contrarian liability. Once is bad enough, twice is just being insufferable.
I’ll be impressed if she actually goes through with this tbh
Doesn’t have a bottle for governing and compromise. It’s what politics is about. She will end up spending her career on the sidelines, making media appearances, and making zero contribution to the way things are governed.
I sense she wants to open the door to SF for the next election. The Greens will suffer and will likely lose most of their seats, SF are making big gains so for her career a switch is the best way to give her a chance of staying elected.
