Furious GMB viewers slam ‘disrespectful’ guest as he calls for ‘lazy’ elderly to get back to work

  1. Ah, everything I hate about headlines condensed. The word furious, random “quotes”, the word slam, Good Morning Britain, and of course, viewers. You just know this is going to be a lazy “article” filled with quotes from idiots on Twitter.

  2. I’ve known plenty like this boy, we call them educated idiots, straight out of uni and without an iota of common sense.

  3. “I’ll still be working hopefully when I’m 70”

Said by a bloke whose never done a days graft in his life. Sure if you work a nice cushy office job you might be able to. Work any kinda trade or anything involving a lot of lifting like nurses, warehouse staff etc you’ll be fucked before that.

Fucking working till you die cunt clearly has a tasted for leather.

  4. Is this a parody of what boomers tell the younger generations? “too lazy to work”, etc

  5. So former reality TV star says something controversial after being asked/paid to come on TV to represent the other side of ‘*should the elderly get back to work’*.

No doubt he’ll be interviewed later about getting death threats from this interview.

Standard rage bait. He gets his 15 seconds more fame and we’ll get drunk relatives at Christmas moaning about how younger generations want them to get get back into work. Despite that being argued by some nobody. Fuck GMB.

  6. It’s like as a culture we’re not really speaking to each other in public discourse anymore, just to news companies who are misrepresenting our views for clickbait.

  7. Good to see the elderly getting upset about being told to work while simultaneously telling the young they have to work because who else is going to pay their pensions… pensions which as well are unlikely to exist for the current younger generation by the time they get to claim them.

  8. All those people who retired at 60/65 getting angry at someone who may well end-up working until they are in their 70s before they are allowed to retire. In part to pay the pensions, state and private (through consumerism), of those who are older than them. Something that brexit will probably make worse.

When I started my first job I was going to be able to retire at 65, it’s now 67 and I’m just hoping that it’s not further increased.

  9. Had a wheeze at the suggestion that the elderly are propping up the economy through childcare. If that’s their point (and I highly doubt it’s in any way factual) then surely a bigger boost to the economy would be to have them, you know, *working* and childcare being a paid vocation?

  10. This fucking myth that pensioners have earned it. You haven’t earned anything. I’m paying your triple locked pension, your care fees and your health bill.

  11. Love a good trolling.

Seems to be falling out of fashion now.

The holy grail of pensions being untouchable word from God can fuck off though.

Also the amount of people that think they paid for their own pension is stupid seeing as how many people care so much about their pension and always have a say yet don’t know how it works.

  12. I don’t think the economy would collapse if elderly stopped babysitting personally but this young man sure does come across arrogant.

The real question is, “is the taxpayer happy to pay more to allow older people to retire” which based on current circumstances (people being forced into paying into their own pensions with companies contributing) does seem a little unfair to some

  13. The only reason anyone is getting upset is because they targeted the elderly.

If this person said the same thing about under 30’s they’d be getting a standing ovation.

Nothing can be permitted to interrupt the cossetted existence of retired people.

  14. Of course the person they got on to talk about what they “deserve” retired at 60, while they berate a kid who we’re all pretending is going to be allowed to retire at 68 (lol).

  15. No doubt there is an agenda to turn the UK into a version of China, all for the benefit of a small elite class.

  16. I love a bit of boomer baiting as much as the next angry millennial, but let’s not pretend that Ryan-Mark Parsons isn’t an insufferable little prick too.

  17. This is all deliberate shit-stirring to create as many divisions within society as possible.

ITV are happy to air it for the ratings.

This bloke off the Apprentice is happy to spout whatever shit keeps him in the public eye a bit longer.

General public love to be outraged.

Government loves all this because it distracts the population from all the really shady shit they’re doing.

  18. There are plenty of senior citizens that would like to work but the interviewers just have to spot a grey hair and you can see them mentally dismissing you. Others don’t see why they should have to pay such a high minimum wage when under-21s cost so much less.
