Antisemitism still common in the EU: study

  1. So, I’m an immigrant in Sweden. Because of the realities* of being an immigrant most of the people I’ve known in Sweden that aren’t family or friends of my Swedish partner are also immigrants, which in this case means mostly Muslims and North Africans. (* – This means going through Swedish for Immigrants language classes, workforce entry training and so on.) It is perhaps unsurprising, if disappointing, that many of these immigrants have deeply ingrained generally negative views of Jews and Israel, but I have also noticed many native Swedes also have negative views of Jews. I have had many co-workers and/or acquaintances make anti-Semitic jokes or general comments to me.

As an American that grew up in and around NYC with it’s very large Jewish population, and that has had many Jewish friends and family I was surprised and disturbed by this.

    Just some anecdotal observations.

  2. As long as there are Jews there will be some which don’t like them. The same as there are people who don’t like Germans.
