So there is only Telenet or Proximus, a duopoly that will be even more expensive and will have even less service. Belgium (Flanders?) needs more than two internet providers to have at least a little bit of competition.
Any Starlink subscribers here? Does that work?

How corrupt can an industry be in a western nation?
Im waiting for the day when they sell proxislet to telenazie at this point.
It wouldnt even suprise me at this point.
why even pretend like there is competiton in this market, or a regulator that does anything.
No somewhat tech savy person believes it, and we already know the regular populous will swallow anything like a good boy because its all we have ever known.
Still having an internet cap in 2023, on a 70€+ subscription is not normal.
Not being allowed to not take the router from the isp is not normal.
A router so nailed shut, that you cant even reach its gui without internet connection. (telenet’s router is only configurable via mijn.telenet.be, something no other consumer or bussines oriented router would ever even think about doing)
Paying 70€+ for a 20Mbps up 300down connection is not normal.
Paying 27€ for 12gb mobile data is not normal…
And yet these are some of the most popular subscriptions in the country.
Not the best deals available i know, but the fact that these are some of the most popular plan’s in the country is tels a lot about how brainwashed Belgians are when it comes to telecom.
I have friends, that are that far gone, that they say ‘i dont care that proximus is laying fiber at my doorstep, becauze im with telenet and Ill never move’
This is a guy in his late 20’s for reference, not some 65 yr old grandma.
