But remember, don’t take unnecessary journeys!

  1. How does he feel about Tiananmen square, How does he feel about the Hong Kong protest movement, the camps too ?

Three questions I feel he should answer, see how much he likes the Chinese government, I know they have invested lots of money in Ireland, mainly via property but still, China is authoritarian, I wonder where his mind sits with all this.

  2. I hear what you’re saying, but International diplomacy is critically important for our entire country. If the global economy were to move away from globalisation we would be totally screwed, so nurturing these relationships is vital.

In addition, I definitely feel our politicians could do with a dose of ambition and open-mindedness, and taking notes from other countries is something we could do more of. I’m particularly thinking about Scandinavia and other European countries, but we could certainly benefit from the kind of rail network China has

  3. Ha ha ha did he cycle der ha ha ha 😄 🤣 😂 😆

Morons not understanding how important this sort of diplomacy is across the world

  4. Op get yourself a hobby. Ffs like you will whinge and moan when the jobs sector dies on its arse and ask why we aren’t sending representatives around the world promoting our country. Whinging for the sake of whinging

  5. Meanwhile back in Connemara we have to smuggle turf up to my granny to heat her house like bandits. We turn on the news at 6pm and we see fuel prices going up and up and up. The government response “people should be using public transport”

The nearest bus stop is 16miles away and it comes twice a day. Everyone in rural Ireland hates that man.

He is selfish. If he was actually interested in a sustainable future he’d try and get the green party established and popular so they can build on integrating their ideas long term. He has done the opposite and they’ll be gone from power in the next general election along with their ignorant policies.

We are left scratching our heads “Is this lad joking?” 9 times out of 10.

  6. “The scale of development is hard to believe”

    – Exploit lower economic population for cheap unregulated labour

    – Allow child labour to populate most factories

    – Dismiss Intellectual property and copyright laws and literally copy foreign competitions designs, pushing cheaper knock-off products into the global market advertised as legitimate products

    – Embed students into research universities with the intent to steal emerging technology research

    – Have decades of disregard for expelled pollution and production waste into the environment

    – Force population to put up with harsh living conditions by means of an aggressive social credit system

Yeah Eamon…. hard to believe… Now go enjoy the pretty lights you absolute gobshite

  7. Does he not recognise that it’s a totalitarian society, still has massive poverty and is a dire shithole if you happen to be a minority? The CCP has been a cancer to China.

  8. Yeah they’re truly an example to be followed on environmen??🤐🤔. He’s just reached peak brazen c**t; why not try lecturing them while your there instead of kissing their ass..

  9. To meet our energy targets, we’re going to install a lot of renewable energy infrastructure. The majority of those turbines and solar panels are designed and manufactured in China.

The reason the cost of renewables has come down so quickly is because Chinese companies have started to manufacture them at scale. That’s because they’re installing them at massive scale.

In that context, it’s totally necessary that our environment and energy minister is over there building ties with them and learning about the latest technology.

But you’re more interested in cheap point scoring about him taking a few flights

  10. This guy is a fucking dolt.

He’s traded up a government forming amount of leverage for not getting bicycle paths built.

I’m not sure if he’s just ignorant enough to think his moralizing and brow-beating is going to be enough to move the needle on an extremely important cause or if he’s just happy with the wage, profile and doesn’t give a fuck that nothing is being done.

A useful idiot for the likes of Mehole and Leo.

  11. Taking aside that this appears to criticise our environmental minister for his actions within his position – because if you’re holding him to account for simply taking a flight for work while pushing reduced emissions, you must be far gone beyond out of touch – this flight was likely to build trade relations, and likewise for any other ‘work related’ flight, is a better use of fuel than any recreational flight.

Are you going to share a picture of your friend’s honeymoon to Malaga and call him a hypocrite for owning a keep Cup? What about the Steward who works for Aer Lingus, ‘he takes 100s of flight every year, the fuel guzzling bastard’

Take your self-declared wit and smoke it, dumbass

  12. Ryan suggests that free public transport will see people take the bus instead of currently walking of cycling. Making peak hours of public transport even more unreliable and over capacity.

This leads to the car drivers who have zero intention of using public transport to attack Ryan over and over in an attempt to undermine the congestion charging coming in.

It’s fucking tiring. It’s the same demographic being absolute snowflakes because they view any form of transport but driving beneath them.

  14. I know you might find this unnecessary but he HAD to see Haungu Park before he died. So no more unnecessary travels…..just one more but on the way home.

  15. > “My trip this week to #Shanghai #HongKong & #Beijing showed me how dramatically the country has changed”

Since when, Eamon? How long have you been in China?

    > “Never in history have so many people rise from poverty.”

I’d say that was arguable, after the Marshall Plan. but you aren’t allowed to dissent. Unless you are a paid actor or a capitalist running dog. Which are you?

    > “The scale of development is hard to believe but the people were still as welcoming. I loved it just the same.”

I dunno – been ongoing development in terms of building new cities these last 30 years or so. Since Deng’s reforms, if you remember. Welcoming is as money does. Got it down now. Useful idiot, quoth his translator as an aside to the PRB personnel he failed to notice throughout.
