I work in social care, and for over 10 years, we have been told **Just keep going, the big funding boost is on its way**
10 years later, we are still keeping on going, and the funding boost is as far away as ever.

Just refuse to provide any sort of care to politicians. After a few easily preventable deaths of high profile politicians occur the funding will be found.
Why not just scrap social care, any and all benefits, and tell us to fuck off and die.

I hope their elderly voters pay attention to this. They might not need it now but they very well could in the next few years, at which point it will be even worse than it is now (which is saying something). They might cheer for spending cuts now but it could very well come back to bite them in the arse if they have a stroke or fall and want to remain in their own homes afterwards.
TIL there is still £250m in social care workforce funding….for now.

This is a bit baffling.
It’s widely accepted at this stage that social care needs the money more than anything else. Patients get stuck in hospitals for weeks on end waiting for social cafe support. It’s the single biggest blocker to patient flow.
Government? More like a fucking scam.
Not sure how many remember as far back to 2019 when they said that they needed to get Brexit done for a stronger economy and..:
* more trade deals
* more jobs
* better social care
* more NHS funding
* cheaper food
* lower energy bills
* more affordable housing..
Once they got past COVID (and God knows how much they creamed off back then) it was a case of don’t listen to him (Johnson), listen to her (Truss), she knows what she’s talking about. Then a few weeks later it was don’t listen to Truss, listen to Sunak because Sunak knows what he’s doing.
Thank God we did have COVID because if we hadn’t who knows what the Tories would have got their thieving, grasping hands on?

Glad I quit. Service users are being endlessly let down by a desperately underfunded system is what I would have said in 2019. Since then it just got worse and worse.
Wasn’t the highest tax burden for 70 years in April 2022 sold to us for this very reason?
So where is our money going? This is banana republic levels of corruption and nobody will be brought to book. The sheep will just re-elect them
