Something that is clear to anyone with a brain. Imagine everything you enjoy doing as a hobby, in spare time or just to relax taken away from you. Imagine not being able to choose when you get to eat, sleep etc. People complained about covid lockdown being torture now imagine that but cranked up to 11 this is what prison is like.
Err, I’ve not heard anyone sensibly assert prison is easy recently, I know it may get said in a pub or an idle comment

Uhhh… I’ve done time in both prison and a secure hospital unit. Prison was a piece of piss.
Tellingly, every time I’ve been in prison, the prison authorities have tried to punt my arse to Carstairs.
If you think that prison is a nice holiday, commit some crimes and go there.
Doesn’t matter how bad it is
Still better than some Convicts deserve
And no I Don’t want to reduce standards or have the death penalty
If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime Boris
