What is that weapon the cop is pointing at the press photographer? Bean bag gun?
Met CRS yesterday in Toulouse, nice guys. They are the ones having it bad in this kind of stories 🙁
They are just here to prevent people from breaking stuff in the streets, but they are also the ones targeted by enraged protesters.
When they go after you, it is generally for a good reason. I mean it’s not like in the US where cops can do whatever without consequences.
Are these police officer who just work as riot police or are they normal officers who just so happen to be used as riot police here?
Because the one thing about specialist riot police is that those people have explicitly chosen to do their career in the police in a division were their job is to beat other people up (and as others pointed out, it’s often the “5 cops to beat up a woman” kind of situation). They’re definitelly not there to “protect & serve” and shouldn’t be confused with the rest.
