Welcome to the gates of hell

  1. Nothing about that looks fun. I’m about to stroll down to my local parade where I can breathe. Have 2 – 3 pints and then grab a chipper and eat it on the walk home. Then I will light a fire and pick some good movies.

  2. I really hope all the staff working today are getting time and a half, at least. *flashbacks to working St. Patrick’s in a Glasgow Celtic pub*

  3. They have a camera from inside the pub too, it was rammed. I wish I could afford temple bar prices !!!!

Young me wouldn’t have minded that but old me couldn’t be dealing with that kind of crowd.

Was at out local parade this morning for a bit, hadn’t been in years and it was nice to see town busy but not nearly like the scene above.

Someone mentioned getting a chipper in the comments here and that well and truly put the want on me, so I’ll nip out in an hour or so for that.

  4. “A pack of crisps and a pint you say? That’ll be €27”

  5. What a classic r/Ireland post. How dare poeple have fun.

This is the first year in a long time I haven’t had the chance to head into town for Paddy’s Day. Always great craic mingling with folk from around the world having the best time of their lives in our capital city.

  6. Used to live in the city centre. St. Patrick’s Day I’d just lock the doors, close the curtains and drown out the sounds of chaos with some good movies or games.

  7. Damn, looks like zero crowd management – which is particularly what caused the horrific crush in Seoul at Halloween.
