Teenage boy jailed for stabbing Afghan refugee to death in London, after being sentenced for carrying a knife that morning

  1. “but denied he intended to cause student and aspiring cricketer Mr Wali really serious harm.”

I would add an extra 20 years onto his sentence purely coming out with that one.

  2. One thing you won’t see is those right wing commentators on Twitter talk about this. Doesn’t fit their agenda.

  3. >The attacker had earlier been sentenced for carrying a knife in a shopping centre

I’m guessing his sentence wasn’t exactly very harsh given that he was free to stab someone **the very same day**. Absolute joke

  4. “He admitted wielding a knife within hours of leaving a magistrates’ court, but denied he intended to cause student and aspiring cricketer Mr Wali really serious harm.”

He must have kept it close by for all those culinary classes he was attending

  5. And Brianna Ghey’s killers were well known the the local force.

What are we even paying our bloody taxes to them for? They’re sure spending all that money but not on actually saving the lives of people who live here.

  6. Ten years and eight months.

He’ll be out at 27/28, what kind of justice is this.

  7. That is terrible. I do wish the press would report on this like they have done when a refugee has committed a crime. I haven’t even seen any news channels reporting on this considering I’ve only seen this. The BBC for example published an article on allegations that some of the the Afghan women’s footballers who came here were faking their claim. I don’t get the point of publishing that article except to stoke tensions where it isn’t needed nor confirmed. And yet that has become the norm, we see many anti-asylum seekers in the press with not much neutrality in them (BBC a big part in this ironically), and yet when something tragic happens to them they go quite like what happened when that man threw petrol bombs & fireworks at a immigration centre in Dover, and the press went both deathly silent on that compared to other items and also refused to call it terrorism. I just don’t get why all the compassion has evaporated in the past few years, it befuddles me.

  8. Weird you wrote all that when it has no relevance. For murder, in the UK you have to have the intent to kill or commit GBH. End of, no need for as level law paragraph.

  9. Laws around knives need to be changed, if you’re carrying a knife and have no reasonable reason to be carrying one, and you then stab someone with it you should be charged with murder or attempted murder.

  10. Sorry but the little bastard should’ve been sentenced for murder and the fact he’d been convicted of carrying a knife hours earlier should’ve been taken into consideration. Absolutely shocking.

  11. I went to this college about ten years ago. It had a massive catchment area and there were constant stabbings. Absolute dump of a place but I thought they’d addressed the issue by shrinking the catchment area so there were fewer rival gangs attending.

If the killer was sentenced that morning for carrying a knife why the fuck was he free to wander about?

  12. One wonders if such an extraordinary callous act, was perhaps spurred on by the dehumanising xenophobic rhetoric of so many these days, including the current Gov’t

  13. Buy surely its only immigrants that commit crime, according to the Daily Heil, Torygraph, and our ‘home grown’ Aryan Brown Shirts.

  14. Teenage boy should be named, while the newspaper did a poor job underscoring the fact that the victim is an Afghan Refugee, with no record to back this up as a racial hate crime, which inevitably will worsen the rift in racism.
