> But the Tories heckled Mr Starmer from across the Chamber, with the Deputy Speaker having to step in so Mr Starmer could continue.
How are these people in charge of running the country? They behave like kids in the playground. Its embarrassing
It’s an interesting one the NHS budget and the reporting around it – it seems to be the only time that real terms growth can be described as a loss.
I bet if you asked most people on this sub to graph out the NHS budget, in any context – real terms, nominal, per capita that they’d draw a downwards trend.
Whenever the Tories on the front and middle benches start throwing insults, generally being boorish or shouting, it really is because they have no answer and are afraid of being shown up if they don’t get all passive aggressive.
Yeah, but at least Joe Bloggs can accrue *more* than 1m for his pension now!
Edit: Still not convinced, but I do think everything needs scrutiny from every angle all the time.
The majority of the budget was a joke.
Extending the energy support was the only thing that is a tangible benefit today.
The rest was higher taxes and promises of support YEARS from now.
these are all peasant problems.
just stop being poor DUH!
have your private GP and live in gated society, while telling others how they need to cope with more immigrants for sake of *economy*(tm)
He literally wrote a book on how to privatise the NHS. Why is he still alive and sneering like a slippery Jeremy Hunt
I wonder why nobody talks about special low tax zones?
There is little detail about it, so it seems like the information is hidden so only friends of the party can use the low tax incentives.
This says that eligible employers can get a relief on eligible employees secondary NIC for up to £25k.
The salary that yields £25k of employer’s NI is £175k per annum.
Cherry on top:
Economic impact
**This measure is not expected to have any significant macroeconomic impacts.**
LOL
Hunt is holding that money back till a few weeks before the general election so we vote them in again!
They have probably provided quite a bit to ‘crime,’ that being the crime committed by their mates.
doesn’t need to, lemmings will vote for them anyway.
It’d be nice if we could split the nhs in 2, one for Tory voters and one for Labour voters, each run and budgeted by the respective party.
I wonder which would turn out better for patients?
I stopped watching PMQs a long time ago.
They act like a bunch of cunts. Sitting heckling each other as if they are at an open mic night or something.
It’s just a jolly old laugh to them.
They all go and get on it together afterwards in the boozer and continue laughing at us.
Right on! Crime, in particular, has been struggling lately and sorely needs an injection of cash.
You’d think at some point framing every single thing as ‘you did this and it is wrong!’ every time you open your mouth would get boring. I never hear ‘by the way, can I congratulate you on this policy? Quite bold if we can say so, we never thought to go that far’. Ever happen? They’re tories, they’re terrible and mostly always wrong but not literally every single time with every single thing. (ok maybe). But you get my point, we should have a politics if we have any of genuine discussion, it’s not wild to think other parties might have a good idea. Obviously I know the whole point of tories is to please donors, win elections, transfer wealth, privatise, give in one hand take in another. Also know Labour under Starmer are shy tories, but that makes it more ludicrous. They’re full of shit basically all of the time. In interviews or in there.
Politics isn’t hard to get right but it’s so firmly stuck being wrong, and it’s entirely to me to do with fptp, 2 party system, majority governments, not capping donors at low maximum amount. Maybe that’s simplistic and money makes the world go round therefore it poisons everything the end.
It should be about ideas, ideas not under the very narrow neoliberal gdp obsessed infinite growth at expense of humans and environment thinking.
Jeremy Hunt on Today program this AM, hit his lines out right off the bat: “After the financial crash there wasn’t any money left….” … I see what you did there, very subtle 🙂
But surely that attack will have lost it’s allure to all but the most anti-Labour voters by now?
It wasn’t so long ago that Mr Osborne was extolling the importance of austerity to fix the nations finances. Then it was Brexit that was going to revitalise the economy.
And yet, here we are …
What, no £350,000,000 a week for the NHS? I’m shocked.
It’s an open goal for Labour at this point. Nothing? Not a penny for the NHS? Easy win.
£1.50 extra for a packet of smokes , sausages rolls have gone up an extra 70p , tin of spaghetti is £2 , food in general has gone up by a quid . No doubt the council will have gone up as well .
Fuel bills will rise again .
This country is broken
… and yet gives massive pension tax cuts to the wealthiest. It is beyond parody at this point.
The Autumn statement is about departmental budgets and government spending. The Budget is about how to raise revenue and set the fiscal rules.
The thing about politicians is they know this, but still play these stupid games instead of behaving like adults
He seems to have acknowledged that there is a case for it in some circumstances, as outlined here (for the “provide evidence” brigade). [https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-64972143](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-64972143)
>He added that any pensions tweak should be “tailor-made” for doctors.
(He being Kier Starmer)
The counterpoint is that it is justified in those circumstances, and everybody else is being treated the same. So there.
zero to the NHS staff who put their lives in danger during the pandemic almost 2 years ago it started.

What a big f*ck you to working class people. The only people to benefit from this budget are his chums who can afford paying £1k a week into their pensions. Disgusting.
Or the many who are struggling with the “cost of living” crisis.
It should really be rampant profiteering.
Nothing for people who are single living in their own home.
I might fly over to France and row back, then claim a hotel and freebies
Gives nothing? What about lifting the pension threshold so millionaire nurses can work a few more months?
Can somebody who knows what they are talking about tell me what the realistic ‘perfect’ way of addressing the NHS would be? Genuinely have no idea.
This is why Starmer needs to have policies that support housing and the NHS. Without them the Tories don’t have a light being shone on how bad their policies are compared to a reasonable government.
Daily reminder the Tories want the NHS abolished and a US style ‘healthcare for the rich’ service. The critical underfunding of the last 12 years repeated (FYI the NHS isn’t perfect but its free).

But as with the Illegal Migration Bill he’ll [forget to vote](https://votes.parliament.uk/Votes/Commons/Division/1497#notrecorded)or something instead of voting against.
