What is the matter with these stupid people? What do they expect to happen when people live longer?
When these moments happen , they lose any sympathy with people that might have been on the fence with their opinions .
Happens with so many protests these days just like the climate change protesters.

I’m so impressed that the French are still protesting.
I find that in the UK we may protest something for a day (if at all), but mainly we are just resigned to our fate. Not sure which I’d prefer though…

What are the odds that the people who did the burning are actually affected by the proposed changes?
Meaning, have a fucking job.
Domestic terrorists? Insurrectionists?
the people retiring in coming decades won’t be like our grandparents and parents generation, there will be millions of retired redditors sat home inactive wearing their vr headsets having heart attacks and strokes causing even more strain on public services

>Fire engulfed the front door of the town hall in the southwest city of Bordeaux on Thursday evening after a day of protests and clashes.
What happened to that Russian artist who France gave asylum to after he set the Russian FSB front door on fire, then after he came to France, set the front door of the Bank of France on fire?
As always, stop acting as if this is because of pension reform. It’s because scum gets a chance to riot. Of somehow there were protest because the age was lowered, the same people would attack police and damage everything they could.
I’m fully with Macron on this one.
French had it too good for too long. Pension system partially based on colonialism and cheap migrant workers. Now they want to enslave their younger generations into paying their pensions.
Jeez, privileged much?
From the information we have (the slogans heard during this), it’s probably an extreme-right action.
It wouldn’t make sense for it to be an action by anybody else anyway : the mayor is from EELV (the greens), a party who voted against the government, and the town hall would be the wrong symbol to burn down (the prefecture would make more sense).

[Petr Pavlensky](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petr_Pavlensky). From his WP article, it sounds like he’s still in France.
