oh well, not that much less than the woman who became angry and killed a cyclist, although I think a good part of the jail term will be for the assault. Because it was a car, I was waiting for her to get a let-off, but I was wrong.
> Goddard was sentenced to 18 months in prison and disqualified from driving for two years and nine months.
Does she get to serve (most of) that driving ban while she’s in prison?
As always if you want to murder someone do it with a car, 18 months for attempted murder is a joke
Is there some sort of hostility towards people doing exercise? I’m sure I’ve also noticed hostility to anyone who eats a vegan or vegetarian diet or has any sort of dietary restriction whether through choice or health reasons.
Like there’s a section of people who mainly eat junk food and do little exercise who feel anyone else not following their lead is insulting them?
How do people like that have a license?
Roads are public highways, and pedestrians have a right to be there.
You aren’t allowed to do anything near a road, unless you’re in a car.
The irony of trying to run someone over because you think it’s too dangerous for them to be running on that road. I guess she proved her self right
There was a woman who kept trying to drive out of her street onto the course of the Alloa Half Marathon a few years back.
There were runners, course officials and pedestrians telling her it was no entry while the race was on but she was determined that she was going anyway, even driving over the cones placed at the end of the road.
Just out of interest, if they’re sentenced to 18 months in prison and disqualified from driving for two years and nine months, does the ban start during the sentence or after?
(either way I think it should really be a lifetime ban with this aggression, drivings a privilege not a right)
Why are drivers in this country so hostile to cyclists, runners and pedestrians?
Terrorist drove at runners in fury on busy road because of infidels on the holy rolled asphalt.
To paraphrase a quote I saw on another post some time back;
“The real religion in this country isn’t the NHS, it’s the automobile”
99.99% of people would be like oh a runner on the road I better flip on my indicator and leave a gap before over taking.
I’m going to be really fucking frank with you. I’m sure driving makes you think that you are the Emperor of the Roads. We literally had a survey come out recently saying that a very concerning portion of drivers don’t see cyclists as people. We see people lose their shit over pedestrians crossing the road, we have this woman here literally try to kill Joggers for being “on the road”, every time a penny is spent on something other than car exclusive infrastructure, cagers have an tantrum about Pot Holes which are ***largely caused by traffic!***
I’m sick of this bullshit. I’m sick of drivers thinking they own the outside. I’m sick of drivers thinking everyone else should accomidate and buy into their lifestyle and I’m sick of drivers working to oppose anyone or anything that *might* reduce traffic.
>Goddard also pleaded guilty to assault by beating and assaulting an emergency worker, which took place in September last year.
To be honest, she sounds a bit much.
This is why you run facing the traffic, at least you have the chance of avoiding
And of course, she gets what’s essentially a slap on the wrist considering the weight of her actions.
People who use cars as weapons should not be permitted to have access to them for a very, very long time, if at all.
Then of course there’s the added physical attack on emergency workers. The woman’s a nutjob and should be locked away for the safety of others.
This supports my argument that people should be subjected to a psychological assessment annually in order to hold a licence. Clearly this woman is batshit crazy.
She looks like a wrong’un and all. Some hidden issues.
Not mitigation. No chance. Anyway, dude down there is correct – murder by motorcar is a weak point in the justice system. They’ve only had 140 years or so to sort that one.
