Going to Spain looking for a job is like going to Iceland looking for a tan at the beach

I mean… I see lots of posts here asking for advice about getting here and finding a job.

I don’t want to be rude or discouraging to anyone, but, do people look at that kind of statistics before thinking of making a life in another country? It’s like going to a US subreddit asking for a good place to find a public healthcare system.

There’s specific areas where you can find a job here, some cities are better than others, and I wish my best to anybody that wants to move into or beautiful country, but I just wanted to share my surprise of finding so many posts asking for a good place to find a job here.

  2. I mean, all things considered, we’ve been in worse situations. And I do hope we can do even better

  3. My dad made the move in 2008 (worst time possible) and was even close to sleeping on the streets. Only by 2015 did he manage to get a good and stable job.

Even so, having to pay a mortgage on the house doesn’t give him any reprise.

  4. That is very sad actually. Moving out to Spain have been my dream for a years and I think it’s gonna be like this for long time. I am very aware of that it’s hard to find a job there if you are not good qualified which I am not actually.

  5. I’m a chef…is my plan of escaping America’s inevitable embrace of fascism by taking my family to live in Spain ill-conceived?

  6. I live in Spain and there’s not so much unemployment, lots of people working without paying taxes, that’s a different thing.
