Read some time ago about finnish jewish soldiers and how they build their synagogue next to german camp. They even invited german soldiers to visit there and they did.
Interesting fact is that the Germans tried to award an iron cross to a Finnish Jewish officer. He refused the medal.
Do those include the eight Jews that were turned over to the gestapo in 1942 and deported?
Saksalaisethan osallistui kannakselta juutalaisten järjestämiin kirkollisiin toimituksiin ainakin muutaman kerran. Ehkä kohteliaisuuttaan mutta kumminkin. Niistä jäännyt jopa kuvia. Varmaan ollut tunnelmaa.
As a Jewish and Israeli I didn’t know that Jewish people fought in the finnish army.
Where is this memorial located?

My favorite things ever: judaism and finland!!!
It’s a weird thing to think about. If they had won the war, their lives would have become far far worse. It’s hard to say what the effect would have been on jews in Finland, but it certainly wouldn’t have been good. I don’t know how they saw it, but looking back, it’s a really weird position to be in
Were these individuals also Finn citizens?
Lets hope we have one for all the Palestinians that have been going through Genocide for 70 years.
