>Energy and food bills have shot up due to the war in Ukraine and pandemic, and are squeezing household budgets.
Maybe it will dawn on people eventually, those cheerleading our hawkish foreign policy, that:
we are not paid in dead Russian soldiers.
Downvoting or upvoting will not change that fact one iota. It is however quite telling that both issues that have caused living standards to plummet became “off limits” for discussion amid hysteria egged on by both our media and politicians. The facts however will not lie.
Wow seems the Russian shills are up and about, must be mid morning in Moscow
People be mad about trying to stop Russia’s invasion over years of Tory governmrnt dismantling the future over short term profit, selling the country piece by piece.
>”We think households are going to dip into some of their savings to help manage the squeeze on living standards and that supports growth in the near term,” he added
Lol.
Don’t worry the only tax cut is for the super wealthy, as usual!
The sooner we get those clowns out of Westminster the better.
surely spending power has risen massively over 70 years though
Not shocked and everyone I know working in the private sector , including my self got a 4% payrise which ironically is more than the normal 2% for the past few years .
all we need now is just a few more years of austerity cuts
Yeah but we all wanted it. That’s why we voted for the party of business and low tax taxes. I’m just looking after me and my own. /s

Is it BBC, is that the reason why. Nothing else contributing then?
I wish someone would tell my wife this… she seems to still spend like no tomorrow!
I recently got a new job. By being careful and really crimping I’m currently £250 a month up after paying everything and surviving the month. However, I have an overdraft that at the end of the month I’m £1500 into – down from £2500. I also have £3k on a credit card which I’m paying off out of that £250 surplus as well as the overdraft. For me to be debt free and have a £1000 buffer say will take months and months, and as the COL increases I’ll be unable to maintain that £250 a month surplus. Plus if the economy gets super rocky and I lose my job I’m completely fucked.
All this happened because I came back to my car and it had been hit and I needed to repair the damage.
Lol. To even have savings you first need to have good wages to fund them. Kinda need pay rises for that. This economic thinking is bent man…
if it gets lower, i imagine people are going to resort to crime and start importing guns illegally into this country
This is why “Oh it’s all doom and gloom in this sub, why are we never talking about anything positive?”
A plant can’t grow if you starve the roots!
An economy can’t grow if you starve the people!
When will the idiots, in the Tory party grasp this very simple economic fact?
There’s a lot of embarrassed millionaires in the comments.
Meny small businesses like mine are clinging on for dear life. And now more shit thrown at us.
