I’m thinking this might be hard to engineer well? Introduce strong winds and there is significant amount of force swinging that trunk.
This is so cool. Strong contrast to trees being cut down for every new development nowadays.

It’s nice that the contractor made the holes larger than the trunk, to allow for wind blowing the trunks and also growth (prob not much growth on a tree that old though). Holes cut too close to the trunks are far too common and short-sighted.
