Christodoulides ready to unveil his Cyprus plan to EU chiefs

  1. The plan: Drag the negotiations as long as possible without any compromises so the church and the far right can be for ever happy cause they will never agree to any solution.

  2. I really don’t get how they can see the EU in a facilitor role as long as Cyprus and Greece have voting rights in there.

May be the European Commission alone, but still there are lot more Greek than Turkish-origin staff. Surely most of the European Commission employees will try to act unbiased, many still have high ideals. But they can’t act without lobbies and pressure from the member states.

The only thing the EU can do to facilitate negotiations is to promise a lot of money.
