So, given all of this one can understand why Washington is willing to humour Turkey when it holds up NATO applications – that is Turkey collecting the geopolitical rents so to speak and they have clear demands of what those rents are.
But seriously, how are the US willing to let Orban dick them around like this? And do they think that if there is a war Hungary is going to offer any support to NATO? I would expect Americans to just kick Hungary out of NATO if they end up holding an either Finland and Sweden by themselves.
And this realisation is, perhaps the reason why Hungary has moved to ratify Finland as soon as it became apparent Turkey was doing so.
But not sick of western money…

So why does Poland protect Hungary ? That’s what I understand is happening . Why are eu funds going to a country actively undermining the eu ?

But like I said, it’s just an idea. If Orbán loves putin soooo much, he can also leave the EU and NATO (even though the people wouldn’t want that), and stop receiving EU funds
