My friend sees these circles and piles of white powder and she thinks its indicating piles of dog shit. I thought they might be running trail markers. The location is Affoltern. Anyone know? Who does this?

  1. The secret is exposed when you look at the circle from the other side.

( hint … face in the direction of Olten and close your left eye for 10 seconds )

  2. From a running group called “hash house harriers”. It’s an international club with chapters in many cities worldwide. [website for Zurich group.](http://zh3.ch)

The “hare” lays a trail in chalk or flower, that the group has to follow. That marking is called a “fish hook” and means that the first 5 runners that find it have to run to the back of the pack. The overall goal is the find all the dots and checkpoints as a group and run from the start to the beer stop at the end. Fish hook markings are to help keep the pack together by making the fastest runners run back to the slower runners.

It’s on meetup. Every Thursday at 7pm. It’s a great way to combine fitness with a social event.

  3. Yep: that arrow means “curly steamer in two paces”

It’s for people who are looking at their phones, to warn them to watch their step
