Croissant with a sausage in the middle (courtesy of Lidl).
No lunch yet. Maybe I don’t have food culture?
I wanted to say: “Don’t drag us down with your monstrosities. Some people eat normal food.”. But then I realised I barely had any stuff for my usual salad, so I ate lentils (canned), green beans (canned), mozzarella, small pieces of ham, avocado and some salad dressing in a big bowl… It was tasty though.
Côte à l’os. We are not the same.
Oh shit, it’s already passed 15:00! Time to eat two boiled eggs mixed with mayonnaise!
Tierentyn mosterd, the best one out there!
? Seriously? Fries, Waffles, Brussels sprouts, Beer, Chocolate,… all the things that we’re known for is food.
The average quality of restaurant here in Haspengouw is about the highest local average i’ve come across on the globe.
And I’ll take a “Frituur” any day over that American fast food crap.
I boiled balls of leftover dough from this morning’s flatbread and sauteed them in a green pesto sauce with anjoviskes. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either.
Lunch for our family today: udon noodles in miso soep, hummus, sambar, chickpea curry, pappadums and potato pooris. Belgian food culture at its best!
Pff weer een stuk brood met beleg op, niks bijzonders

made stoofvlees (hereford meat) with West-Malle dubbel, verse friet en witloof 😀
That’s cliché as fuck but I ate a Liège waffle earlier at the train station and now I just ate fries with mayo
As a person recently moved from Belgium to the UK I really really miss Belgian food culture. The same feeling I had in The Netherlands and Germany.
So yes, maybe compared with France or Italy it looks not so bright but Belgians definitely have a really good food culture.
At least I see 4 components in your sandwich with a nice tasty baguette. It could be beans on toast, so just feel the difference!
Toasted rye bread with smoked salmon salad.
But I’m craving a koffiekoek all day, really looking forward to the mandatory Sunday breakfast tbh.
Pasta stoofvlees!
Homemade Vol-Au-Vent, made with homemade chicken stock. Nothing beats that imho!
If you change the sausage for a grilled chicken breast, it would be almost healthy perfect!
It looks delicious ! I’d love to chomp it
Duvel frites sauce samouraï (bio)
Since it’s my husbands birthday today, we ate fondue. And as there’s a bunch of leftovers, we’ll eat the same tomorrow.
Stokbrood prepare met sriracha
Thanks for reminding me of that “we have no food culture” nincompoop.
Media spiel around western foodcultures feels kinda forced tbh.
Just eat.
Puke
Slap some samourai sauce on that and Thats a fancy sandwich for me
Koude patatten op nen boterham me mayonaise
Recently had a Dutch person on discord say that both of us have shit food other than fries cause we take a bowl of mashed potatoes, dump meat in it and call it a meal😂
Have to agree, I like fries and waffles but other than that I only make asian food and I’ve never even been to asia, these peeps just know what good food is.
Salami and choco (boerinneke) on rye
