This is incredible – it would be like a parody of a dystopian local government, except that no movie would get the budget to cut down 100+ mature trees. And the purpose of this is supposedly to make the avenue into a park!
These images are taken in the exact same place, but the perspective / zoom angle is slightly off. You can tell it’s the same place though from the pattern in the bricks on the pavement, the CCTV pole, the red sign of the shop (Santander bank?) on the left and, just behind the shop with the red sign there’s a building with a railing around its roof – the latter is very obvious in the lower image (at least in full resolution) but [barely visible between the trees in street view.](https://i.imgur.com/Hqaa8bR.png)
This isn’t taken in the exact same spot, but again look at the pattens the bricks make in the grass, and also the planters at the back on the right hand side in the 2023 picture. It’s pretty nearby.
