About 20,000 women are trafficked from Nigeria to Europe every year. They are often promised a nice job, but in reality they end up in prostitution and are victims of human trafficking. A team of young reporters investigates the Brussels prostitution district for “Vranckx and the nomads”. They also travel to Nigeria to talk to victims of human trafficking.
Patience has been living in Benin City, Nigeria for six months now. When she was seventeen, she was smuggled to Italy. She was promised a job as a hairdresser. “I met someone who wanted to take me to Europe. He said that it’s easier to be a hairdresser in Europe than in Nigeria. I dreamed of having my own hair salon, but when I arrived in Europe I realized that they had cheated me. was forced into prostitution and I had to pay back 60,000 euros.”

Just like it took a war in europe to invest in defense, it’ll take a crisis to invest into the justice system. Always reactive, never proactive.
