Non-violent protest, April 1st

  1. A peaceful protest will help nothing at this stage.

People need to catch themselves on it you think a few hundred people standing outside the Dail for a couple hours chanting is gunna change anything, they’ll be laughing at you thru the windows.

  2. This is great. People realising that it’s not migrants that are causing the problems. It’s the shit government.

If I wasn’t poor and in Belfast, I’d have been down there with hammer and sickle.

  3. No matter who you vote for, the government always gets in!

I would be there if there was a protest for how much rain we are having of late with my umbrella.

  4. This is on a Saturday, really no point protesting outside the Dáil on a Saturday.

Wednesday lunch time until 6 pm on a day the Dáil is sitting. Bring the city to a halt.

  5. As sure as the sun will rise, there will be **another** vaguely titled protest trying to catch all of the issues.

The COLC, supported by PBP no less.

  6. What’s the plan to fix all these things? Eviction of the government won’t fix it. It would be a lot easier to support these events if the people had a logical solution

  7. This will segway into “House Irish homeless first”. The protest then gets highjacked by a load of ‘Not far right, just right so far’ professional protestors with Ireland flags. They’ll record a few videos of them praying and chanting paedos at Paul Murphy, the Gardai will seperate both crowds and nothing will be achieved.

  8. Organised by one of the many offshoots of the looney left, although they go to great lengths to hide that this is a People Before Profit organised event. Take a drink every time a bearded adult who still believes in communism shouts ‘workers of the world unite’ into the microphone.

Can we have a protest that’s not organised by Paul Murphy and his well worn soapbox?

Holly Cairns needs to make a push here and have the Social Democrats organise a major protest. The majority of employeed people wouldn’t be caught dead at a Paul Murphy protest

  9. It is hard enough to get Irish people to go out to these things to begin with. Having it on April fools day is hobbling yourself out of the gate

  10. If I can, I’d just like to point out a Major problem with the messaging.

    “WHAT DO WE WANT?”

    “MORE EVICTIONS!”

No wait! Hold on, How about a nice chant instead?

“EVICT THEM NOW, EVICT THEM NOW!”

No guys, this is a protest to evict the government because they lifted the eviction ban.

Crowd raises their placards that clearly say “EVICT THIS GOVERNMENT” and start to chant “NO MORE EVICTIONS!”

Do you see the issue? The messaging is off. Your core point is Eviction = bad. So don’t make eviction your goal.

  11. What a perfect date for all the idiots to go out and have a whinge. This will accomplish nothing and will likely lead to violence despite what it is advertised as.
