Of course not. By hook or by crook, the de factor dictator and fascist in chief of Turkey will do anything in his power to prevent the lawful change of power.
“Authoritarian wants to hold onto power”, wow, who coulda seen that coming.
Turkish military ‘coup’ 2, electric boogaloo
The Radio and Television Supreme Council, RTUK, the state organization that monitors and penalizes radio and television broadcasts, has heavily fined and sanctioned Turkish TV stations since the earthquake disaster and in light of the impending elections for their critical coverage before the vote.
Short summary for foreigners from a Turk who left the country:
The elections are still mainly valid because it’s quite old school, you stamp your vote on the ballot and throw it in the box. At the end of the day there will be observers from each party if they are organized well(most of the time they are not). So if they steal some votes then it’s also the opposition to blame, in the election in 2018 the main opposition party left around 12,000 ballots boxed without observers, which is around 4 million votes.
Erdogan still has a chance because the opposition has fought in itself and damaged its reputation, mainly because the main opposition candidate, Kılıçdaroğlu, has insisted on his candidacy and succeeded but there are a lot of voters are not content with him, including myself. Because he has lost every election against Erdoğan since 2010 excluding 2019 local elections and during these elections his main mission was not being around because he is a loser with a great track record.
There is still a solid %25 who would vote for Erdogan even if they are to live on streets because, well, religion.
What the opposition needs to do is focus on the problem and explain the solutions and not antagonize Erdogan supporters and organize well during the elections to make sure as few votes stolen as possible.
Will they do that? Well, if I said yes to that, I would not have left my home country, my family and friends.
Erdogan won’t go down at all.
You guys think he will lose?! Even if he loses the vote, he still won’t leave power. Just watch.
Expect another “military coup” soon before the elections, and him arresting a whole lot of “terrorists” and postponing the elections for “national security reasons”.
He’s just another rabies riddled right wing dictator who needs removing for the safety of Turkey and the world.
I wonder what will happen, if he loses?
I want to remain fooled though.
What are the chances he will not fraud the elections ?
He will win again anyone optimistic about him finally getting what’s coming for him is very naive this bastard will still come through. If disgusting people like sarkozy/macron and platini/blatter/infantino from a western country can get away with crimes/shenanigans like they do for a western country you can be sure this guy will pull off stuff that’s going to be worse
