The Herd Immunity Catastrophe: How British Public Broadcasters Failed the Impartiality Test on COVID-19

  1. If the media had started questioning the government policy in the early days of the pandemic then no-one would have followed the government advice at all and more people would have died.

Of course the lockdown skeptics have won, so…

  2. I’ve said it many times in past 3 yrs – I’m sure Vallance Whitty are decent caring people but sadly they got things seriously wrong with unimaginably tragic consequences. And still getting things seriously wrong.

  3. It’s frankly a shocking weakness in our legal system that lockdown was ever possible to begin with.

This is why we need a new Bill of rights. Not the one Fishy Rishi is pushing for, which is essentially trying to strengthen parliament against the judiciary and the public, but a proper one that declares rights that cannot be stripped away by parliament.

There is no precedent for this in English Law however, it would have to be through collaboration of government, parliament and the judiciary to create a document that is above parliament, and would require the finest legal minds of our age to draft it properly.

  4. Lockdowns only really happened because the hospitals couldn’t cope even after they turfed all those poor sick elderly people into random care homes.

  5. I think the whole thing was fantastic. It allowed me to very clearly see who the pricks are that I want nothing to do with any more. It also allowed me to see which side of the current culture war going on is complete garbage.

I’ve never been so sure in my own individual decision making and am delighted with the choices I made. I feel sorry for the weasels who played along. Weak AF.

  6. It was blatantly obvious from the outset the tories were mainly interested in the economy and not peoples lives.

Johnson himself showed absolute contempt for covid and scant regard of its consequences.

Think for a moment just how dangerous this was: the person is overall charge just didn’t give a flying fuck.

Yep, and the media followed him too. Just like the obedient little tory puppies they undoubtedly are.

The whole episode was a sham. But nothing compares to March 2020 for what cannonly be regarded as a government culling its own citizens.

  7. You have to remember that the key reason for the lockdown was to protect the healthcare system from absolute meltdown due to very high numbers of people needing hospitalisation, from the scientific perspective. From that perspective it worked and bought time until vaccination could be rolled out.
