Disposable Vapes should be banned, just for the littering issue alone.

  1. Initially seen as the lesser evil compared to smoking but only time will tell. From what I’ve read there is a concern over the impact vaping has on the heart. I hope they are banned outright.

  2. I don’t understand why there aren’t collection bins for them like there are for batteries

There’s a guy on here who’s looking for used vapes because he’s re-using them to build something

  3. The limits they put on the maclx size of them is also stupid. It’s not like smokes where a casual user will get a week or two from a box. These get used in one night so you buy multiple. Every other country allows you to buy 5 times the 600puff we allow. If you need 7 a week your going to buy 7 instead of just the 1.

  4. It’s not like most towns in Ireland were litter free before disposable vapes. We just don’t clean up our communities properly, which is the actual problem you’re annoyed at.

  5. I agree. But it’s not just vapes. All companies should have biodegradable packaging if disposable is used. And all of the packaging not just one part

  6. Should we ban chewing gum next? How about beer cans I see loads of those on the street too. Or how about we realise that people in this country, young and old litter far too much no matter the product something has to be done but banning these products won’t change it. It’ll only change what’s being littered

  7. If I had to base one single environmental policy on that picture, it would be to ban chewing gum. The ground is absolutely manky with it. At least the vaping stuff is at the bin.

  8. I live next door to a vape shop the bin outside looks identical and the surrounding streets and alleys are covered in empty vape boxes

  9. Why stop at vapes? I think all disposable electronics should be banned.
They are an absolute environmental disaster.

  10. I don’t vape but I do re-use the batteries to make small power banks. My brother and his mates go through truck loads of them, I crack them open, remove the battery and it’s jumper wires, and re-charge them. I take a dremel to the cases of the Lost Mary vapes and make room for 2 batteries then link the two batteries together, solder on a voltage regulator and the top of an iPhone lightning cable through the mouth piece and just like that you have a small, convenient battery charger that gives you about 10-15 minutes worth of charging. No a lot but enough to save you in a pinch.

Just for clarification: I’m an electrical engineer and know what I’m doing. You should never charge a vape battery by cutting cutting a charger and putting the positive and negative to the battery like the eejits on YouTube do. I use a regulator to ensure the batteries do not get over charged and that they are safe for use.

  11. Each of these vapes has a Li-Ion rechargeable battery in them that can be reused hundreds of times. I collect these from friends and they get sent to Ukraine and get made into power banks for the Armed Forces.

  12. there are billion dollar corporations dumping sludge in the ocean, but let’s blame the smokers

  13. Disposable vapes be littering all day boys. Down with the vape, get them out of here. Causing stickers to be stuck everywhere those damn vapes…… People mate, people litter. Banning vapes or chewing gum or crisp packets doesn’t work I’m afraid 😂 love Reddit for it’s intellectual redundancy, stay simple guys xxx

  14. Simple. Vape stores should offer a % reduction on the next order for returning old cartridges. They can then recycle using small cleaning tech (affordable) and refill. Remember milk bottles and fizzy pop bottles with 10p back? !

  15. They banned menthol cigarettes as a deterrent to minors smoking them, only to bring in these things, that are way more affordable, harder to detect and come in a delicious array of flavors

  16. I went to Ireland for the first time literally last week lol and there were vapes EVERYWHERE we just kept calling them ground vapes and would watch people just drop them on the ground :/

  17. Ban them. The cost is insane compared to the proper vapes. It’s sheer laziness.

Also they were made FOR KIDS and they have worked a charm. Cheaper ones enter the market every month.

  18. I hate them they’re thrown everywhere and they’re targeting young people to use them with the flavours and colours. If you’ve never smoked cigarettes why would you start doing vapes??

  19. Cant stand the vaoes and i’m a semi casual smoker (smoke when on a big session of beer), the thing with vapes is that people just smoke them randomly in your face without realising it. My missus is using them now and she puffs away all the time inside and outside the house, her sisters do it too. At least ger brother smokes rollys outside. Think the whole etiquette about them is poor. Also her younger sisters are the same ones that lectire older people about the environment and but these yokes every day.

Plus there is no way they are good for you.
