    Today, at 10:57 am, we were informed that an attack with a knife was taking place, at the Ismaili Centre, on Avenida Lusíada, in Lisbon. PSP clarifies and informs:

    1. At 10:58 am, the first police officers who responded to the incident arrived at the scene;
    2. The officers came across a man armed with a large knife;
    3. Orders were given to the attacker to cease the attack, which he disobeyed, advancing towards the police officers, with the knife still in his hand;
    4. Faced with the serious and ongoing threat, the officers used firearms against the person, hitting and neutralizing the aggressor;
    5. The aforementioned attack resulted in several injuries and, so far, two fatalities;
    6. The attacker was rescued and taken to the hospital, where he was alive, detained and in our custody;
    7. PSP appeals to the serenity and tranquility of all our fellow citizens, having mobilized the necessary staff for the implementation of adequate and urgent security measures.

  2. As a Portuguese, can I even be considered “*European*” if there are no Muslims stabbing people in the streets of my country?

    How is this a bad thing?

  3. Both mortally wounded victims were Portuguese women working in the centre.

    Police was called at 10:57 and 1 minute later they were already there which is actually remarkable.
