Eleanor Williams sentencing: Men tried to take own lives over rape lies

  1. That’s fucked up.

Just read the other article on this, just WTF..

    >The bruises that hundreds of thousands saw in her Facebook photos were real, but they were caused by Williams’ own hand after she attacked herself with a hammer.

  2. A custodial sentence is obviously inevitable (and justifiable) for this but I hope she gets the mental health treatment she obviously needs. Self harm to that extent isn’t the behaviour of somebody of sound mind.

  3. One of the men spent 73 days in jail purely on her allegations. It’s insane that anyone could be locked up just on someone’s word.

  4. and people wonder why real rape cases are taken less seriously, its shit like this that ruins everything for actual victims.

  5. Her jail sentence must be equivalent to what her victims would have received if they were convicted of rape.

And she also needs to be registered as a sex offender.

  6. I fear she will not get a proper prison sentence for this and it’s not right. She has ruined people’s lives for 5 minutes of fame no matter the status of mental health.

Those poor blokes had to live through this and luckily the truth has come out …although I suspect that won’t be enough for some people and they will still be tarred with the rapist name.

    Just a horrible woman

  7. She should get sentences equal to the combined sentences those she falsely accused would have got.

  8. This is the kind of shit people love to brush under the rug and pretend isn’t common/a big deal

In all of these proven false allegations, the prison time is a mere shadow of what the accused would have got, and way less impactful than the mere accusation.

  9. She’s not just ruined the lives of the people who have committed but family and friends of that individual. Not to mention this is a complete mockery of actual victims who sometimes don’t even get heard. She deserves to be in jail for life imo

  10. The misogyny in these comments is appalling.

False rape allegations are so incredibly rare, that men are more likely to be raped by another man than they are to be falsely accused.

Don’t let these articles convince you the problem is more prevalent than it is.

ETA: I’ve received some reply notifications but cannot seem to answer for some reason. They don’t appear when I go to them. Anybody know why?
