BBC reporting really pisses me off lately. They routinely post stories like this but don’t actually have the wording of the tweet or the thing the person said.
In this instance, they’ve said ‘racist’ in quotation marks and also that it “used racial language”
They do, however, always post the exact wording of the statement/apology
“I did not mean it to do so and I am deeply sorry.
“I find racism in any form abhorrent, I have therefore reported myself to the monitoring officer at both Hampshire County Council and New Forest District Council.
“I have suspended myself from both the Conservative Groups… pending investigations.”
I would not hold out too much hope love
First the mayor of Winchester resigns, the MP turns out to be on the fiddle, now a councillor is exposed as a racist.
Its not going well for the Hampshire political sphere.
With just the headline to go on, I think my odds of correctly guessing which political party she’s affiliated with are about one in one.
Is she going to criticise Sky Sports presenters for not backing BBC presenters over this issue? They did not show any solidarity and probably loved the increased viewership.
> Leader of New Forest Liberal Democrats, councillor Malcolm Wade, said the post “encouraged division and racism” and had “outraged a number of people who read it”.
Which is the only reason she is apologising. She meant what she said and is just saying she is sorry because she found out not everyone agreed with her.
Im going to guess this women is a Tory and UKIP /Reform (on whatever they are called ) Councillor
>Hampshire conservative Alexis McEvoy.
I am shocked.
My theory is that this is reflective of your average grass roots tory member. It explains how we got Liz Truss quite well.
