Middelheim is full of art. This is probably just another artistic piece that the park has to offer. 🙂
You could say that because it is in the Middelheim Park, that it is a form of art.Another possibility is that Joke Schauvliege believed that broken branches can grow back through Bluetooth connection. In doing so, she then demonstrates that she is wise enough to realize that the branch must hang at the proper height.
Maybr they want to preserve the bird’s nest in that branch 🤷♂️
It’s a branch holder.
Tbh I really like this as an art piece. Like, it’s a pretty basic/heavy handed metaphor, but the execution is really nice and I think we can all immediately think of some situation or experience we’ve had in the past that felt like this.
The greenkeepers were instructed by the community to cut down the branches. However the city decided that the trees must grow large branches for more greenery. This compromise was a result of a three week negotiation between all parties involved
The fact that we are discussing this art piece now means that it works as intended
It’s a branch assistant…
I do like how it is set up with the growth of the tree in mind. The long bolts can be unscrewed over the years to accommodate for the trunk getting larger. It’s not perfect but by the time it reaches its limits that branch it’s holding wil be gone.
Hold on, even when you’re broken
It’s the floral representation of Homer Simpson strangling Bart while yelling “why you little”?
If you know of a better place to store branches other than in a tree, I’d like to hear it
Cyberpunk tree.
Maybe a way to explain that nature can’t be repaired by artificial means
Fake! this is too simple for being Belgian. And there is no duct tape at all…
An eye for an eye.
Haha that’s a great piece of modern art for ya! 😄
I wanted to say “art” as a joke because I can imagine some idiot would pay 100.000 EUR for this. Turns out it was no joke.
In IT this is what we call a wireless branch office
My guess ?
They put the metal thingy so the branch wouldn’t fall, and someone cut it for some reason.

We fix things.

Kunstwerk ig, if you can even call it that
Im the guy that intalled this. I also put up this work in the Middelheim https://www.instagram.com/tv/Cor_JaPIVXl/?igshid=OGRjNzg3M2Y=
Given my experience with *git*, this would illustrate a merge conflict between a side branch and the master branch.
