Sooo.. probably the “Don’t keep all your cards in one basket” advice applies here.
>Sainsbury’s Bank customers will now only get one Nectar point for every £2 spent whereas they previously gave customers two points for every £1 spent
That’s a huge change, when is this happening?!
no bad news for my Nectar account in there, but it does make me think putting last weeks shop (£70) on it, was a good idea. (I previously had about £135 saved up.
Anyone else get in early on Morrison’s offering about 10 years ago when they were being ridiculously generous? Pretty sure I was getting a £5 voucher every time I spent £50, and that was without purposely trying to buy the things that boosted your points. Presumably a penetrative pricing kind of thing because they toned it down after a few months.
Anecdotally, supermarket rewards now seem so ungenerous that I don’t even think about them anymore. I just scan my card and every now and then check if I have enough for a discount – which I usually don’t.
I think Tesco have been very smart with their ‘Clubcard prices’ thing, which only deducts savings once you scan your card. They aren’t doing anything new in terms of the amount they’re saving you, but it feels like they are.
Sainsbury’s Nectar offers have definitely got worse in the last year. I could get 1000 on a £40 shop with ease last year, now I am not getting half of that. It’s not helped by stock levels being so variable that I miss out on several offers to begin with.
They missed out the Lidl Plus changes (maybe as it’s old news), specifically the scrapping the old £10 coupon for £200 spent. I managed to get the £10 coupon a couple of times, spend £250 in a month forget about it.
Yes they introduced the free item at £150, but this month it’ll be a bag of nuts…
I live really close to a tesco so I’ve actually got no complaints about their changes.
Through the app they’ve gone from a day delay to turn points into vouchers to immediate, the coupons are pretty well targeted if you use your clubcard every time, they’re still doing 1 point per pound spent and the clubcard price thing on the shelves rotate regularly but are mostly things I actually buy, which is very different from any other shop.
Yeah, Tesco is alright for now.
I really dont like the new thing that loyalty card = different price.
Its a pure data grab and punishes you for not doing it.
Remember: It’s all inflation, no price gauging is going on.
I used to collect decent morrisons points on their card and after it changed couple of years ago, it became virtually useless. Points on useless stuff you don’t need. Nah.
